“For Christ’s love compels us…” 2 Corinthians 5:14
That is why 2 people from Greenville, South Carolina can leave their house and jobs, pack suitcases, and head to the horn of Africa. Because in Jesus Christ is hope and life, and by His grace, He has called us to serve in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
We are going with the World Medical Mission Post-Residency Program to serve at Myungsung Christian Medical Center (a Korean mission hospital) and Myungsung Medical College, the only evangelical Christian medical school in Africa. Larry will support and disciple the students as Director of Student Life. Laura will be on faculty at the medical school. Together, we will serve the medical students, staff, and patients.
Addis Ababa is the capitol of Ethiopia, a city of nearly 10 million people. Ethiopia has a rich history and unique culture, and possibly the tastiest food on the planet.
Our journey into missions began several years ago, at the Global Health Missions Conference and an invitation to visit Myungsung. In 2017 we were accepted into the Post-Residency Program, and in early August 2018, we participated in new medical missionary training with CMDA and our orientation with World Medical Mission/Samaritan’s Purse.
August 22, 2018, we arrived safely in Addis with our Shepherd, your support and prayers, and 7 suitcases. We are in the process of settling into our new home, new roles, and growing relationships with the other staff. Please pray for Laura’s medical licensing, and our work permits and residency ID applications.
